Privacy Policy
Last updated September 24, 2026
1. Our commitment
TechX Startup Corp (“TechX”) operates My Briefcase powered by CRMHUB. We protect personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws. Our Privacy Officer can be reached at ceo@techxstartup.com.
2. Information we collect
Account information: name, firm name, professional email, phone, licence number, language preference, password (stored only as a salted hash, never readable by anyone, including us).
Billing information: plan, seats, invoices and receipts. Payment details are collected and stored by PayPal, not by us.
Customer Data uploaded by practitioners: client profiles, immigration history, family members, identity and supporting documents, forms and messages.
Usage information: log-ins, pages used, audit logs, device and browser information, and job-board or ad click counts.
3. How we use information
To provide and secure the Service; to verify practitioner accounts; to process payments, receipts and referral rewards; to send service emails (verification codes, receipts, trial reminders, document reminders, support replies); to send product announcements where permitted under CASL (you can unsubscribe at any time); to generate aggregated, de-identified statistics; and to comply with law.
4. Customer Data
For client information uploaded by a practitioner, the practitioner’s firm controls that information and is responsible for obtaining consent. TechX processes it only on the firm’s instructions to provide the Service, and does not sell it or use it for advertising.
5. Sharing
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the Service under confidentiality obligations, for example cloud hosting, database storage, PayPal (payments), our email delivery provider and AI translation tools used for interface text, or when required by law. We never sell personal information.
6. Storage and transfers
Information may be stored or processed in Canada and in other countries where our providers operate (including the United States), and may be accessible to authorities in those countries under their laws. We use contractual and technical safeguards to protect it.
7. Security
Encryption in transit (HTTPS), HTTP-only session cookies, hashed passwords, role-based access, owner-level audit logs and restricted data exports. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada of breaches that create a real risk of significant harm, as required by law.
8. Retention
Account and Customer Data are kept while the account is active and for up to 30 days after termination to allow export, then deleted or anonymized, except where we must keep records longer (for example, billing and tax records for 7 years under Canadian tax law).
9. Your rights
You may request access to or correction of your personal information, withdraw consent to optional communications, or ask questions about our practices by contacting ceo@techxstartup.com. Clients of a practitioner should contact their practitioner first. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
10. Cookies
We use a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in and local browser storage for your language, theme and accessibility preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
11. Changes
We will post updates on this page and notify account holders of material changes.
